WACO, Texas - Errors proved costly as Houston fell to Seton Hall 4-2 in game three of the NCAA Softball Waco Regional Thursday afternoon at Getterman Stadium.

After three scoreless innings, Seton Hall (45-17) got on the board first when first baseman Laura Taylor doubled to left scoring McKenzie Richards. The RBI was Taylor's 39th this season, giving the Pirates a 1-0 advantage. Two batters later, Mary Carroll Smith doubled to right center scoring Tracy Myhren, who was pinch-running for Taylor.

In the fifth, Seton Hall added two more runs extending their lead to 4-0. With one out, Caitlin White reached on a throwing error and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by catcher Meg Meyer. Richards reached first on the second Houston throwing error advancing White to third. With runners on first and third, the Pirates executed a double steal scoring White. D'arcy Djakalovic, the ensuing batter, singled to left scoring Richards from second. It was Djakalovic's 35th RBI of the season and Richards second run of the game.

Down four runs, Houston (38-24) came out swinging in the sixth, reducing the deficit 4-2. Jaci Gonzalez led off the inning with a single to left followed by a pinch-hit single from Brandi Clark. After back-to-back strike outs by Houston, Cougars' third basemen Kristen Glowacz tripled to right scoring Gonzalez and Clark. The two RBI increased Glowacz' total to a team-high 44 on the season.

Junior pitcher Megan Meyers(26-6) recorded the victory for Seton Hall, along with her 25th complete game this season. Meyers allowed just two runs on three hits and a walk, while striking out eight.

Houston starter Crystal Briscoe (12-11) took the loss. She allowed all four runs on four hits before being pulled after 4.2 innings of work. Jenny Johnson finished the final 1.1 innings giving up just one hit while striking out two.

Seton Hall continues action Friday at 3 p.m. against the winner of game four between Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and LSU.

Houston returns to action tomorrow morning to face the loser of game four. Game time is set for 10 a.m.
